Are these guys cute, or what?! We spent some time with Lindsey and Pat last night shooting their engagement photos. They were great, and we got some really cute shots of them. They are getting married on 07/07/07 in Carbondale at River Valley Ranch. Pat was joking that he is going to have to make some serious dinner reservations if they ever want to go out on their anniversary! They will be sharing that date with soooo many people! We can't wait for the wedding!

We took a much-needed little vacation and took Lucas to ride Thomas the Tank Engine in Durango. He was most impressed. We had a great drive down there (Colorado is so beautiful right now), and a fun stay in Durango. We drove up to Fort Lewis College, which is where I spent my first year in college right out of high school. Boy, did things look different. We took a little detour on the way home and stopped in Gunnison and got to visit with Monica and Dylan for a few hours. Dylan ran the train for Lucas, so it was hard to pull him away to come home.
In the station waiting to depart...

This engine is in a great museum there in Durango - got to see lots of neat things.

And a quick snapshot with Monica and Dylan before heading home

Tammy and Ted

Tammy and Ted had the most beautiful wedding on Saturday. It was a perfect day (although a little hot!), and the ceremony was amazing! It was held at the Tybar Ranch in Carbondale. Mark Nieslanik knows how to throw a party at this place. It was so beautifuly decorated with hay bales and Aspen trees, and the flowers were stunning. Kim Nieslanik-Cornelius from Flowers 'N Such did all the flowers, and she outdid herself for her brother's wedding.

This was the most amazing entrance at a wedding that Gil and I have ever seen! The wedding party rode on a hay wagon along a little road that could be seen from where everyone was seated at the wedding. They all got to watch them come down the road and arrive at the back of the lawn where the ceremony was held. Tammy and her dad followed in a single horse-drawn carriage. It was so unique.

A very proud mother of the bride...

Some future Wrangler butts!

Amber & Norm

Amber and Norm finally had their dreams come true on Saturday. They had the most beautiful wedding at Elk Mountain Resort in Montrose. What an incredible place, and incredible people that work there. Amber and Norm had chosen this beautiful place because of its beauty and what a perfect outdoor wedding would be like there. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans. It snowed two days before the wedding, and the staff made the call to plan the wedding in their quaint Swiss wedding chapel. It broke their hearts to think of not being able to get married outside in the aspen trees that so define both of them. The morning of the wedding, Gil went to the staff and did some begging on behalf of Amber and Norm. Bill Atkins (the general manager) and Kim Anderson (the event coordinator) agreed with much hesitation to go ahead and set up for the ceremony outside (the forecast called for afternoon thundershowers, so we all knew we were taking a risk). The staff was fabulous, and the day proceeded as one of the most spectacular days that we are so proud of here in Colorado. Everything was perfect, and Amber and Norm finally got their wedding in the aspens!

And the beautiful family!

Amber and Norm's cake didn't make the long, bumpy ride on the dirt road up to the resort. So the chef "whipped up" this gem in under five hours - it was such a beautiful cake.

I think the kids drank the place dry of Shirley Temples!

The kids played in the rock pile overlooking the lake for hours. They all got in plenty of rock throwing.

A quiet moment with Aspen...

Dancin' outside on the patio

And the most beautiful evening to a perfect wedding day. This place is truly spectacular, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a very special place.

Happy Anniversary

Another Happy First Anniversary goes out to our special friends Michelle and Jerry Johnson. They had a beautiful wedding at Jerry's mom's house on the Roaring Fork River near Glenwood Springs. What a perfect day it was, and they looked so happy together. It is such a blessing to see a great friend find the love of her life. Congratulations, you two, and we wish you many more!

Mountaintop wedding

We were so honored to be at Kim and Spence's gorgeous wedding on top of Aspen Mountain on Saturday. What an incredible day! Kim and Spence were both so relaxed the entire day. Her dress was amazing, and she looked stunning in it!

They all put in a ton of hard work, and it certainly showed. It was more difficult than most weddings because everything had to be taken up to the Sundeck via the gondola. They even had a huge harp up there! Amazing - and the weather was absolutely perfect.

A little last minute vino and snack for the bride

Spence sharing a quet moment with his mom before the ceremony

The girls and Kirk patiently waiting for their cue

And Spence seeing his bride for the very first time

And the beautiful Colorado day that they both had dreamed of

THIS was Spence the entire day - he has this great laugh that he freely shares with everyone who is around him

With knife and serving blade flashing, Mr. & Mrs. Zorro cut the cake. Kim gave Spence his first taste - and she might have even gotten a little in his mouth!

And the sparkler fairwell at the bottom of the gondola! The 15 minute gondola ride down at 10:45pm was spectacular. We could see nothing but the twinkling lights of Aspen, and then the wedding guests ready to greet the newlyweds with over a hundred sparklers. What a fitting grand finale to a grand day.
